The accused Avhatakali Isaac Mudau (36) and Wisani Baloyi(36), appeared in Malamulele Magistrates' Court, for bail application of the murder for the Mayor of Collins Chabane Municipality, Councilor Moses Maluleka (56). They are charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances, conspiracy to commit murder, murder, attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The proceedings were remanded for a further bail hearing for the legal representative of Mudau to rectify the defective affidavit.
Initially, only two suspects were arrested and appeared in court, they abandoned their bail applications. Their matter is postponed to 19 September 2022, for further investigations. The incident took place in Xikundu Village, on 21 July 2022. It is alleged that the accused gained access to the premises of the deceased, in the evening and shot him, the incident happened while the deceased was with his 18-year-old son.
The matter is rolled over to 26 August 2022, and both accused will remain in custody.
